So I've just got myself a Veriton X275. when I got it it had 5 USB ports on the front, one beside the card reader and 4 in two sets of two seperated by audio ports below the card reader. the card reader and USB are one card in a module and go to one set of connections and the four lower ones are two units of vertically stacked twin USB ports on a seperate card and the two outputs on that card in the module (one for each of the stacked USB modules)go to one connector point on the motherboard. When however I got it home I found that only the USB beside the card reader worked the other 4 were broken so I took it back for repair. When I got it back the two on the top row had been blanked with a plug which seems to be an Acer part and only the bottom two were available. I noticed however athough both worked individually if I tried to use both together they stopped working. Eg. I have my mouse plugged into one if I put a thumb drive into the other the thumb drive does not work and my mouse stops working (the same thing happens if i use either of the non functioning upper two USB ports), if I remove the mouse the thumbdrive loads or if I remove the thumb drive I get my mouse function back. If i plug anything into the top row of USB's I do get the ' USB DISCONNECTED SOUND' going off a couple of times. Thinking the shop had bodged the repair I got a new module to fit myself however when I fitted it the same thing happened. I don't understand the complete non function of the upper two USB ports as nothing is recognised if you plug it in to them( they seem to realise that something has been plugged in and have some sort of power coming from them but it seems like it's at very low amps) All the pictures i have seen of the X275 have all four of the USB's available on this lower part. I can only assume that the repair shop could not get them to work either so blanked them with a part from a similar model of Veriton that only had two lower front USB ports. When I got the X275 it was running Windows 10 but i have now downgraded to Windows 7 and installed all the available drivers from Acers support pages. There are no yellow triangles in device manager so all drivers seem to be fine. So does anyone have a clue to what is going on with these USB ports and what can i do to fix this, In all the time working with computers I have never come accross anythin as wierd as this.

vl4618 doesn't recognize new hard drive after recovering with recovery media.
I have the media created when the PC was new. I replaced the failing hard drive with a good equivalent hdd and restored the operating system. After it finished installing all the software and drivers it reboots and connot find the hdd. In the BIOS it cannot see the hdd. What's going on here?

Upgrade Graphics Card?

I have an Acer Veriton M421G.
I have recently upgraded my video editor to Cyberlink Power Director 15.
From the warnings I keep getting eg: Not enough memory. upgrade graphics card, I guess my system cannot cope.
The system is the original other than upgraded to win 10.
The processor is a AMD Athlon(tm) 11 x4 620 processor 2600Mhz 4 core 4 logical processor.
Is it possible to upgrade to a AMD Phenom 11 or higher
and VGA 128 VRam or higher.
As you can probably tell I have no idea what happens under the lid!
If it is possible to upgrade would it be worth it or should I think about a complete new system.

Veriton L4610G Windows 10 Freezing on power save
Hi All,
We have a bunch of L4610Gs running Windows 10 and I have been receiving some comments about the 4610s freezing when in low power mode - A power cycle is required to get the workstation working again. They are all running BIOS versions of either P0-A3 or P0-A4. Is a firmware update going to fix this issue ?
I'm loath to upgrade the firmware as the units I have upgraded lose the serial number and model number from the BIOS, which we need for inventory purposes via SCCM.

Veriton L460 circa 2009, Missing CD/DVD driver after wipe - no downloads on the Acer site!
I just wiped an Acer Veriton L460 with Killdisk.exe. All the partitions were removed and wiped, but now it says I am missing the drivers for the CD/DVD drive. Weird because it is able to recognize the Windows 7 64 bit installation DVD and begin the setup!
Even weirder, while you can download all kinds of Vista stuff for this computer from the Acer website, there is nothing but user manuals and a BIOS file for the Windows7 option!
Anyone got some ideas on where the Windows7 drivers are hiding? Thanks in advance!

I want to change the Windows 10 back to Windows 7. I have got the CDs for Windows 7, but I dont know if I have to delet Windiws 10 before i install the Windows 7?
In which sequense do I start uploading the CDs: Language Pack LPCD, RCD or SCD?

USB 3 ports on L4610G
HI gang. New here. I have two L4610G systems. One is i7 CPU and the new one (used) is i5.
I am looking for the driver for the SIS-100 chip that drives the USB 3.0 ports.
Two front ports on the i5 do not work - I don't know if they are bad or need a driver.
I downloaded all 8 available drivers from the Acer site, but see no SIS driver.
Is a driver needed? Where might it be? Does the Intel Chipset driver do the job?

Help with my Acer Veriton M265 BIOS upgrade
Hello everybody!
I'm having a big problem and i could really use some help from all the experts here. I recently bought a second-hand Acer Veriton M265 desktop computer so i could play some LAN games with my son. It came with windows 10 x64 pre-installed and everything was working fine. I decided to downgrade the OS to windows 7 and update the computer bios so i downloaded the latest one from acer's page using the SNID on the side of computer. I got to the bios update page ok and downloaded the most recent one and proceeded to update it on windows using the program inside the zip file. It updated ok but when the computer restarted, i got a BIOS checksum error and won't allow me to boot to windows (or any other drive so i could use the old bios again). Apparently everything is working fine and i can enter the bios and check the new version number, change settings etc, but when i restart i get the same error. I tried removing the battery and used a brand new one, but no luck. Can anybody here advise me on what i should do next? Thank you so much for any help on this!

Acer Veriton x4630G Bios Update
Good day. Our office bought an Acer Veriton x4630G with Core i3-4130 Processor about 2 years ago. We plan to upgrade the processor to the newew i3-4170 but the motherboard won't boot. I discovered that the bios was outdated and new one is needed so we can replace it to latest processor. I've downloaded bios from your official website but it won't flash and saying error rom file size does not match existing bios size.
Is their a chance that we can upgrade the processor of this unit? Thank you in advance.

Veriton N4640G , Where Can I purchase optional expansion modules?
I have quite a few of these uits and a few that would benifit with the expansion modules you advertize on your site.
I would like a few of the Optical drives and the the expansion card housing.
I cannont find these accessories availible for purchase anywhere.
I know for the optical drive USB externals are availible and cheap but the OEM look is prefered in my environment.

Acer M261 and Mozilla / windows XP Pro silver light issues.Netflix.
Since firefox changed to 52 suddenly I can't run netflix it ran then freezes. When firsfox states they no longer support a plugin what does this mean . It worked fine right after the change now it won't.
Avast or spybot find no issues .
Any help would be great.
